Silver clay looks and feels like porcelain but when fired it is 99.99% pure silver.

For those who want more than a taster, this workshop will show you how to handle the clay for best results.

You will design a pendant and earrings (or two pieces of your choosing) and complete the project from start to finish with tips for best results and any assistance required.

You will texture or pattern your pieces before firing, either in clay or greenware stage – you will be shown both.

The workshop will take you through cutting, texturing, filing, pre-fire sanding, firing, sanding, oxidising, polishing and finishing.  You will add findings and a chain so that your jewellery is ready to wear when you take it away with you.

All materials and tools will be provided along with plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits.

The course includes 10g of lump clay and access to the workshop silver paste pot as required.

This is a full day course so you will need to bring lunch with you.  A speciality coffee and cake will also be provided to round off your lunch.
